Enhanced site search
We're pleased to announce that the National Science Foundation (NSF) has renewed funding for OpenTopography, a science gateway that provides online access to Earth science oriented high-resolution topography data and processing tools.
Over the past several months OpenTopography has released eight new datasets. Six of these datasets were collected by the National Center for Airborne Laser Mapping (NCALM) as part of their seed grant program. NCALM is an NSF-funded center that supports the use of airborne laser mapping technology (a.k.a.
OpenTopography, in collaboration with the Boise State University Boise Center Aerospace Lab (BCAL) and NEON, will be teaching a short course this fall on Topographic, Geomorphic, and Vegetation Analysis with Lidar. This workshop is part of a series of NSF/NEON supported training on the use of datasets from the NEON Airborne Observing Platform to enable new discoveries in the biophysical research community.
We are pleased to announce a second 2016 running of our short course on high resolution topography. This course follows high demand (90+ applicants) for our January course, and so we will be offering the course again thanks to support from UNAVCO, NCALM, and EarthScope.

Come connect with OpenTopography at the 2015 American Geophysical Union meeting in San Francisco! OpenTopography will be in booth #211 on "NSF Street" in the exhibit hall. The booth is shared with the National Center for Laser Mapping (NCALM). Our booth is staffed by the OpenTopography team and community members, and is a great chance to ask questions, provide feedback, or discuss lidar, high resolution topography, or cyberinfrastructure.
