New airborne lidar covering two volcanic fields (AZ, NV) and a river confluence (CO)

OpenTopography is pleased to announce the release of three new datasets covering two volcanic fields in Northern Arizona and Nevada as well as a river confluence in Colorado. The Sunset Crater Volcanic National Monument data were funded by the National Parks Service and the Nevada and Colorado datasets were funded by the National Science Foundation and collected by the National Center for Airborne Laser Mapping (NCALM).

Wasatch Front, Utah Point Cloud Data Now Available

OpenTopography is pleased to announce the release of new point cloud data covering 3,684 km² of most of the Salt Lake and Utah Valleys as well as the Wasatch and West Valley Fault Zones. These data are the result of a multi-organization effort to support flood mapping, geologic fault mapping, transportation, infrastructure, solar energy, and vegetation management projects.

New Release of Vegetation Raster Data for Sonoma County, CA

In October 2014, OpenTopography released lidar point cloud data and limited raster layers (bare earth, highest hit, intensity) for Sonoma County, CA. This week, new raster layers were added to the Sonoma County raster data in the OpenTopography portal.

Sonoma County California Topography and Vegetation Data now Available

OpenTopography is pleased to announce the release of lidar point cloud and raster data covering Sonoma County, CA. These data are a result of a five year effort to map Sonoma County's topography and physical and biotic features, and diverse plant communities and habitats (at a 1:5,000 or higher mapping). Several organizations including the University of Maryland, NASA, and the Sonoma Veg Map program funded the collection and hosting of data on OpenTopography.

Point cloud data from California and New Mexico now available

OpenTopography is pleased to announce the release of two point cloud datasets covering areas of northern New Mexico and the Mojave desert in California. Both datasets were collected by the National Center for Airborne Laser Mapping (NCALM) in 2012. The data from New Mexico were collected under a National Science Foundation (NSF) award.
