Eight Datasets Available for the Channel Islands, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, New Mexico and Texas

We are pleased to announce the release eight new datasets covering various unique areas of the United States. Seven of the datasets were collected by the National Center for Airborne Laser Mapping (NCALM) for hydrological and biological studies in Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, New Mexico and Texas. The Channel Islands dataset was collected for the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and includes all of the islands of Channel Islands National Park: San Miguel, Santa Rosa, Anacapa, Santa Barbara, and Santa Cruz.

Lidar Data for Jemez River Basin, New Mexico and Several Locations in Oregon Available

User Interface Updates and New Community Contributed Data Feature

We are pleased to announce the release of OpenTopography v.3.8 that includes several exciting improvements to the user interface designed to streamline data discovery and access. We've rearranged the data discovery map and data access pages to use the full width of the OT website, and have also made changes to make it easier to access various data products and metadata.

New Point Cloud Data Now Available in Florida, Oregon and New Hampshire

OpenTopography is pleased to announce the release of four new datasets collected by the National Center for Airborne Laser Mapping (NCALM). These four data sets cover areas in the states of Florida, Oregon, and New Hampshire and were collected for a variety of scientific purposes including identifying Gopher Tortoise habitat, monitoring hurricane frequency and analyzing the effects of natural and man-made dams.

The San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) at the University of California, San Diego, will host its ninth annual Cyberinfrastructure Summer Institute for Geoscientists (CSIG'12) August 6-10. Since 2004, CSIG has been funded each year by a grant from the Earth Science Division (EAR) of the National Science Foundation (NSF).

Four Datasets Now Available Including California, Idaho, Florida and North Carolina

We are pleased to announce that four new point clouds datasets have been posted to OpenTopography. The datasets were collected by the National Center for Airborne Laser Mapping (NCALM) and cover portions of California, Florida, Idaho and North Carolina. These datasets were collected for a variety of scientific purposes including identifying Scrub-Jay habitat, detecting a landscape's response to tectonics and looking at forest leaf structure.

8 Airborne Lidar Datasets from Idaho and 4 Terrestrial Laser Scans of Fault Ruptures Available

Now available through OpenTopography are twelve new airborne and terrestrial lidar datasets. Eight airborne datasets covering areas of Idaho are provided by the Idaho Lidar Consortium, US Forest Service, and several affiliated institutions and agencies. This release also includes four terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) datasets collected to accurately image surface rupture from earthquakes in Nevada and Mexico.
