OpenTopography's Spring 2026 Webinar Series

OpenTopography invites you to join a series of weekly, hour-long webinars in March and April 2026.

The first webinar introduces OpenTopography and our new resources and should be of interest to all. The three subsequent webinars are aimed at those with some familiarity with lidar who seeking to make better use of these data in their research and teaching.

If you are looking for webinars that more broadly introduce high-resolution topography, please review our past webinar series from 2023 and 2025.

Webinars are free to attend, but advance registration is required. Registration coming soon!.

All webinars will be on Wednesdays from 1–2 PM Eastern Time / 10–11 AM Pacific Time. Sessions will be recorded and posted on OpenTopography's YouTube channel.

Webinars will be lead by members of the OpenTopography team and will cover the following topics:

March 18, 2026 Introduction to OpenTopography and what's new: Overview of OpenTopography, including OT’s expanding data holdings and newly available processing services.
March 25, 2026 Data access pathways: Best practices for accessing point cloud and raster data through the OpenTopography portal, as well as programmatically via the API and Jupyter notebooks.
April 1, 2026 Topographic differencing and uncertainty: Introduction to vertical topographic differencing, with a demonstration of OpenTopography’s new portal-based tools for calculating uncertainty in differencing results.
April 8, 2026 OpenTopography's educational resources: Overview of curriculum activities ready for use in undergraduate classrooms, along with video tutorials, short-form videos, and Jupyter notebooks.
