A new lidar dataset covering approximately 24 km2 of Oban on Stewart Island / Rakiura, New Zealand is now available on OpenTopography. Stewart Island / Rakiura is the southernmost inhabited island of the New Zealand archipelago. This dataset has a point density of 10.12 pts/m2 and was captured in 2021 for Environment Southland by Aerial Surveys, with data management and distribution by Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand. This dataset is available through an ongoing collaboration between OpenTopography and LINZ that makes OpenTopography the primary distribution platform for point cloud data collected as part of the LINZ national elevation program.
