OpenTopography is pleased to announce the release of three new lidar datasets covering about 3,092 km2 of New Zealand's South Island: Mackenzie, Canterbury; Otago; and Queenstown. The data were collected in 2015 and 2016 by Aerial Surveys for the Otago Regional Council and Genesis Energy Limited, respectively. The approximately 8.1 billion lidar points in these three datasets are available through on ongoing collaboration between OpenTopography and Land Information New Zealand (LINZ), that makes OpenTopography the primary distribution platform for point cloud data collected as part of the LINZ national elevation program.
