OpenTopography at the 2022 American Geophysical Union Meeting

Dec 5, 2022

Connect with OpenTopography at the 2022 American Geophysical Union meeting in Chicago, IL! OpenTopography will be in booth #1318 in the "NSF Neighborhood" in the exhibit hall. Our booth is staffed by the OpenTopography team and is a great chance to ask questions, provide feedback, or to discuss lidar, high resolution topography, and cyberinfrastructure.

Stop by the booth to see the latest in OpenTopography:

  • New raster visualization tools: The new raster visualization service will generate hillshade and color-relief maps, with user control over illumination angle and color palettes. In addition, standard topographic metrics of slope, aspect, and roughness are available. Users can access these data products as browse images, full resolution images, GIS friendly formats such as GeoTIFF and IMG, and Google Earth compatible KMZ format.
  • First map of topographic change at statewide scale: OpenTopography produced the first ever map of statewide high-resolution topographic change and canopy height models of Indiana. Topographic differencing of multi-temporal topographic data is a powerful technique used to measure natural and anthropogenic change at the Earth’s surface. The differencing results show change from a variety of processes related to the agricultural, forest, river, urban, and coastal environments of Indiana.
  • New data: In the past year we've added ~48 new high resolution datasets covering thousands of square kilometers on several continents, in addition to ~17 datasets in the Community Dataspace.

We'll also be giving away the popular I heart lidar stickers, as well as a new generation of OpenTopography logo stickers, and bookmarks. Please stop by and say hi!
