USGS LiDAR No Longer Discoverable via OpenTopography

Jul 8, 2013

The US Geological Survey recently discontinued delivering LiDAR data through the CLICK (Center for LiDAR Information Coordination and Knowledge) interface. While CLICK was active, the OpenTopography Find Data page provided users the ability to discover and easily access LiDAR data available from the USGS archive. Now that CLICK is no longer active, OpenTopography has removed this functionality from our site. USGS has transitioned lidar data distribution to the EarthExplorer system, so users seeking USGS hosted lidar will need to visit that site to discover and access data. The USGS Earth Explorer (EE) tool provides users the ability to query, search, and order satellite images, aerial photographs, and cartographic products from several sources. We are currently investigating the capabilities of the EarthExplorer system, and if technically feasible, OpenTopography hopes to again offer access to USGS lidar through the OpenTopography Find Data map.
